Sainsbury's: Crime Line
- Corporate Video
In March 2006, Sainsbury's plc launched an internal scheme to help prevent loss, theft and damage to its property, people and profits. With over 700 stores nationwide, Sainsbury's required an effective communication medium that would impact and influence over 150,000 employees.

Blank Canvas Media were engaged by Sainsbury's to create, produce and deliver a docu-drama styled video to support the launch of the Crime Line initiative throughout the UK, whilst re-educating
employees on the effect of crime to Sainsbury's business.
Blank Canvas Media worked very closely with Sainsbury's managers to produce a script that
incorporated real scenarios and situations that had occurred within the network of stores over the past few years. This was then edited to include best practices and
guidelines from Sainsbury's own 'Operational Standards Manual'.
With agreement and confirmation of the script from senior management, Blank Canvas Media were then tasked to
schedule and produce the video, which included planning the following key elements:
Casting of Actors & Actresses for the Various roles
Planning & Organising the filming with Sainsbury's
Scheduling
additional film crew, make-up artists and technicians
Sourcing and confirming the various external locations
Hiring & purchasing
additional equipment
Story-boarding, drafting and re-editing of the script
With minimal disruption to Sainsbury's, filming was completed in under four days.
Post production of the 'Crime Line' project was completed in-house by our experienced editors in under four weeks, with input and support from Sainsbury's at key stages. The project also required some specialist CGI and special effects added at the later stages which was again handled by the Blank Canvas Media team at the request of Sainsbury's.
